AHKEEM D. TOWLES BIO

Ahkeem Towles, a native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was born on July 3, 1989. He was raised by his mother, Electa Fleetwood, alongside his four siblings.

At the age 6, Ahkeem walked into the Doors to Destiny evening Vacation Bible School. He was escorted by his neighbor, Deaconess Janine Hammet and accompanied by his little brothers, Tyree and Xavier. He was so excited,
even though he did not understand everything that was going on; he simply loved being a part of the

beginner’s class that first summer. Upon arriving at the Open Door Mission True Light Church,

Pastor James L. Ballard became Ahkeem’s grandfather figure and mentored him until he received his
Heavenly reward. Little did Ahkeem know that the seeds that were sown and the doors that were opened

for him in July 1996 would propel the pursuit of his purpose in God. He attended VBS camp every

summer. At the age of 12, he became a junior counselor for the camp. He took his job very seriously

by leading devotions, praying, and encouraging other campers to emulate him as a role model.

In 2012, Ahkeem was appointed to serve as the national youth leader of the Gates of Heaven

Assembly of Churches by the Presiding Prelate, Bishop Maureen L. Davis. In 2013, Ahkeem

was set aside as minister in training and became a licensed minister at the 58th Holy Convocation

in August of 2015.

Having an epiphany, Akheem realized that he wanted to become a funeral director. He is presently

an assistant to the funeral director at the Clarence Johnson Jr. Funeral Home. In 2017,

Ahkeem obtained his Associates in Applied Science and Mortuary Science from

Mercer County Community College Funeral Service Program. In 2018, Ahkeem graduated

with his Bachelor’s Degree in Biblical Studies, and in 2022, Ahkeem obtained his

Master’s Degree in Organizational Development Leadership.

Ahkeem has not allowed his background to dictate his lifestyle, nor deter him from

identifying with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He presently serves on the

Outreach to Youth Ministry, Sunday School, Men’s Ministry, Adjutant’s Core and is

Bishop Davis’ acolyte and adjutant.

This forthcoming voice and leader in the Kingdom is an advocate for youth
and is destined to make a difference by changing the lives of his generation
and generations to come. His greatest desire is to serve Christ and his
leaders. Pray for this young man as he becomes all that God ordained and
predestined.
